Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our services and land management solutions.

What services can you provide?

We can provide land clearing, bush hogging, grading, excavation, drainage solutions, driveway installation and repair, shoreline stabilization, pasture reclaiming, storm cleanup, debris removal, ditch work, and jobsite preparation and more!

Who provides materials?

We have sources for any dirt and rock. Other materials such as drainage pipe or filter cloth can be supplied, but we do not get any discounted rates on these materials, therefore, if the customer is able to transport those materials and have them on site for us, it is cheaper for the customer.

What is Land Clearing?

Land clearing services can benefit vegetation, make it possible to grow crops, and help you make the most of your land. These services are necessary to make land more accessible by everyone from hunters, atv/utv/dirtbike riders, farmers, land and homeowners looking to increase the amount of usable land or to increase property value, to real estate developers needing an area prepped for construction.

What Does Land Clearing Involve?

What land clearing involves depends on the job. If homeowners would like to clear away debris to ensure plants have access to more water and sunlight, the job will be a basic job that involves clearing away debris and extra vegetation. However, services for real estate developers include clearing away everything on the land, including rocks, debris, vegetation, etc.

How Much Does Land Clearing Cost?

Land clearing can cost as little as $300 or as high as several thousand dollars. The total cost will depend on the number of trees that need to be removed, how much other vegetation there is, terrain, type of finish desired, and how large the lot is. Additional services, like demolishing old buildings, will increase the final price.

Does Land Clearing Make Land More Valuable?

Yes, clearing a plot of land before selling it does increase its value. That's because buyers don't have to pay the cost to clear the land after purchasing it, so you can enjoy the high ROI on the money you spend. It can also help a plot of land sell faster. It's easier for someone to imagine building a house on a piece of land that has already been cleared.

What are your rates?

Rates vary per job based on several factors: type of service needed, volume of work to be done, equipment required to do the job, and variables affecting the difficulty of performing the job - such as brush density for a brush cutting job, for example. These factors will be assessed and discussed with the customer during the estimate process and we will make sure we clearly explain each point so that you completely understand the process!

How Do I Know What Land Clearing Services I Need?

ore beginning the job, we will come to survey the land. We will discuss your plans for the land and what we will need to do to help your dreams become a reality. We have plenty of experience to let you know what needs to be done to the land.

What is the difference between mulching and brush cutting? And which service do I need?

Mulching and brush cutting are both effective land-clearing methods, but they serve different purposes depending on your goals for the property and the cost between them is drastically different.

Mulching uses specialized forestry equipment to grind trees, saplings, and heavy brush into mulch that is left on the ground. This method clears and improves land at the same time—returning nutrients to the soil, reducing erosion, and leaving a clean, park-like finish. It’s ideal for overgrown areas, small trees, thick underbrush, fence lines, trails, and property reclamation. The equipment to do mulching is extremely expensive to acquire and maintain and many people underestimate, or, are completely unaware of what it requires to do this type of service correctly and safely.

Brush cutting (also called bush hogging) uses rotary cutters to mow down grass, weeds, and light brush close to the ground. It’s best for maintaining open areas such as fields, pastures, and lots where vegetation is mostly grass or small growth rather than woody material. While our brush cutters can effectively cut trees up to 3” inches diameter, this process does not leave as fine of material as mulching in the finished product, but brush cutting is a much more affordable option compared to mulching making this option the most popular of the two.

 Which service do you need?

  1.  Mulching may be a good option if your property has never been maintained and has extremely dense brush, invasive growth, saplings, or trees greater than 3” in diameter and you want long-lasting, complete clearing with minimal debris.

  2.  Brush cutting may be a good option if your land is mostly grass or smaller trees such as a field that hasn’t been maintained in 3-4 years, or if you just need routine maintenance or mowing. Brush cutting is also good for thinning out wooded areas where landowners want to keep the larger trees but thin out the undergrowth - this is a great option for hunters!

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to assess your property (FREE OF CHARGE!) and recommend the most effective and cost-efficient option to get the results you’re after!
